Brits hoping to explore one of the UK's most beautiful beaches may want to make the most of spring (once the weather decides to cheer up of course).

With its gorgeous white sand shores, sheltered cove and crystal-clear waters, it's no surprise that Kynance Cove in Cornwall never fails to wow visitors - and according to a recent study from Parkdean Resorts, spring is one of the best times to visit.

The holiday parks giant ranked a number of popular British beaches on factors such as how much rain the region receives, and the average water temperatures, with Kynance Cove topping the list. Of course there's also the added bonus that you'll be avoiding some of those peak summer crowds that flock to Kynance when the summer weather appears and Britain enjoys some hot and sunny days!

The gorgeous cove is pretty famous with both locals and tourists, but it's definitely worth adding to your radar if you're eyeing up a staycation this spring. The 200m-long beach not only has those gorgeous sands and waters, but it boasts some impressive rock formations with quirky names such as Asparagus Island, The Drawing Room and The Parlour.

The beach is relatively remote but can be easily reached via countless trails in the region, and lies on the South West Coast Path approximately 2.5 miles walk from Lizard Point. On Tripadvisor, plenty of happy holidaymakers have urged others to make the trek as it offers up some pretty incredible views of the Cornish coast.

One visitor wrote: "We spent the entire day here back in May and pictures really don't do the place justice. The water is absolutely stunning, and looks as though you're abroad in a sunnier place than England! The views from up by the cafe are also amazing, my only word of advice would be to wear proper footwear as you have to climb over rocks to get to the water itself and it's quite a trek!"

"We visited both of these on a sunny day and the views of Lizard [were] spectacular," another added. "Saw the resident seal, I was blown away if so much going on and seeing so far. Kynance Cove was breathtaking with a great view when you creep around the corner to see a magnificent view - wasn't disappointed at all. If you like theses sort of places worth a visit."

If you want to replenish your energy after the walk, there is also a small cafe. Meanwhile, the cove is a National Trust site so you'll also find facilities such as a nearby car park which can be ideal for those who don't want to take on the walking trails, or if you're wanting to just visit in passing as part of a wider itinerary.

Spring can also be an ideal time to visit as it falls during the window where the beach allows dogs - they're only allowed on the sands between September and June. Otherwise, there's a dog ban in place 1 July - 31 August, 10am - 6pm, although it's worth noting that dogs are welcome on the surrounding footpaths all year.

However, if you do want to take a dip then make sure you heed the National Trust's warnings that there are no lifeguards on duty, and there are strong currents. It's also worth noting that you can get cut off by the incoming tide, so make sure you stay vigilant when you head down.
