Description

Engineering work is taking place on Saturday in the Glasgow area, closing some lines and also on Sunday in the Carlisle area closing all lines.

Avanti West Coast:

Saturday

Services to / from Glasgow Central are reduced to one train per two hours, with extended journey times, calling additionally at Lockerbie, but not calling at Motherwell.

The remainder of the Glasgow Central service will start / terminate at Preston.

Some services will call additionally and Penrith and Oxenholme.

Edinburgh trains will run as normal.

Sunday

No trains will serve Penrith, Carlisle, Lockerbie, Motherwell, Glasgow Central, Haymarket and Edinburgh.

A limited number of services will serve Lancaster and Oxenholme.

All remaining trains will start / terminate at Preston.

Replacement buses will run between:

  • Preston and Carlisle.

  • Carlisle and Glasgow Central (direct).

  • Carlisle and Glasgow Central (calling at Lockerbie and Motherwell).

TransPennine Express:

Saturday

There will be no train services between Carlisle and Glasgow Central.

Sunday

There will be no train services Oxenholme to Glasgow Central / Edinburgh.

Rail Replacement buses will run between Oxenholme and Carlisle, and between Carlisle and Edinburgh.
