Dave C Of its day, it was great. But even then, the key players still had extremely annoying character traits, and they don't change with time. Kim and Terri are ANNOYING, and Jack's constant constipated stress becomes boring. Overplayed emotions, much?! Still delivers as an of-its-time concept Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/10/23 Full Review Brett R The season that started it all. Somehow, Day 1 still feels radically different than the nearly 200 episodes that would follow, but "24" definitely had the magic in its pilot, which had to be adjusted in the wake of 9/11. Really intense, ruthless television with a timeless story that cuts deeply personal for our main character. Do not skip. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/18/23 Full Review Brian S The show is good. The only issue is his wife and daughter make such stupid decisions. They constantly put themselves back in danger. Daughter seeks out kidnapper for assistance, then fails to leave two times. Last episode the wife is really going to walk around CTU and into the unlocked server room? Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Kason A Y This show started out great and kept getting better and better. With twists and turns, this show never ceased to keep me on edge for what happened next. My only complaint is that the writers kept creating very interesting characters that would only be seen for an episode or two and then be completely forgotten about. At least they made it work in the end. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/28/22 Full Review a.l.jude p One of the best, impeccably made TV shows ever. It keeps mind blogging the way it presents makes it unique to many other similar shows. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review J Give it a watch, Jack Bauer is too much fun. Caryn James New York Times Like any thriller, what matters is how well this plays out on screen, and ''24'' is stylish and gripping. Nov 20, 2018 Full Review Julie Salamon New York Times So far, though, the characters are glossy chess men; who they are is important only because it enables them to do what they have to do. In the show's clever strategy, each move instigates yet another, but what that will be isn't easy to anticipate. Nov 20, 2018 Full Review Noel Holston Newsday The writing is crisp, the performances nuanced and believable, the gradually quickening pace addictive. Nov 20, 2018 Full Review David Hogan hoganreviews.co.uk Great action, tense scenes, moles and other fun twists, 24's first season is a hit, but underwhelming side-stories with the Bauer girls can drag some episodes down a bit... Rated: 4/5 Mar 22, 2021 Full Review David Zurawik Baltimore Sun Sutherland makes viewers believe in the reality of this guy almost from the moment he comes on screen. Sutherland is so comfortable and sure of his talent that the audience doesn't see the acting and forgets about the actor. We just see Bauer. Nov 20, 2018 Full Review Jim McMahon IGN Movies Right from the pilot, 24 had a unique style and intensity, peppered with "holy crap!" moments and intrigue, capped off with a plane being blown out of the sky by a pretty young lady/terrorist.
