Henry Slade has revealed England’s improved attacking performances in the Six Nations were the result of a “flip” from the coaching team and the influence of the players.

The new wave of positivity around the national team has also convinced Slade to stay at Exeter Chiefs. Unlike many of his contemporaries, the 31-year-old centre is ready to reject a move to France and stay at his boyhood club so he can continue playing for England.

Slade explained how the senior players helped to adapt England’s style during the Six Nations. After the 30-21 defeat by Scotland, in which England made 25 handling errors, the team were frustrated they were not realising their potential.
