A former care home in Weston-super-Mare could be turned into a huge shared house under plans submitted to North Somerset Council.
The Rosamar Care Home on Locking Road in Weston-super-Mare offered assisted living facilities but now could be turned into a house in multiple occupation (HMO), meaning a home where unrelated people live together and share some facilities despite not being officially considered one household.
Plans submitted with the change of use application show that the downstairs sitting room and office would both become bedrooms, while a flat roofed dining room extension would be demolished. All bedrooms would have en-suite bathrooms.

Like any new HMO application, the HMO will have to be licenced and would have to comply with The North Somerset Council Standards for licenced Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO’s) Under part 2 of the Housing Act 2004.
In the application, it states: "The proposal seeks minor internal alterations to a former Care Home property, including the selective demolition of a single storey flat roof rear extension."
