A FORMER department store building which has been vacant for over a decade is set to be put up for auction.

The TJ Hughes building, on 17-21 High Street in Weston, will be available for sale by public action on Thursday, February 8, 2024.

This will take place from 7pm at Leigh Court in Abbots Leigh, as well as online.

Plans have already been submitted to turn the building into apartments and retail units. Residents of the development can expect to enjoy "excellent transport links" and an "array of amenities" on their doorstep.

The High Street building has been vacant since TJ Hughes went into administration in 2011, with Dove buying it two years later for £670,000 at auction.
