NORTH Somerset Council has announced that the 127 bus service will be ending later this month.
The service, which will finish at the end of term on Thursday, March 28, will be restructured to enable the 126 service to serve Weston College students, as well as commuters at peak times.
Those travelling from Winscombe and Sandford into Weston will be able to use the bus for work and college commitments. This is the first time commuters will be able to do this since October 2022, when the 126 service was withdrawn by the commercial operator.
The 127 bus service is used by a small number of students travelling from Wrington to Churchill Academy.
The council will organise home-to-school transport for all students with transport entitlement using the 127 service from Monday, April 15.
Cllr Hannah Young, executive member for Highways and Transport at North Somerset Council, said: “We want to connect our local communities with sustainable transport options.
"Reconnecting Winscombe and Sandford to Weston-super-Mare at peak times will give residents a real choice and reduce reliance on cars to access work, education and key services."
