A dance theatre show will bring its unique blend of fun, funk and foam bananas to Weston this month.

A Real Fictio, by aKa Dance Theatre Company, is presented in partnership with Super Culture and Front Room, a popular fringe theatre located in Central Walk.

The performance, taking place on April 27, invites audiences of all ages to an intensely vibrant mashup of dance, theatre and meme culture.

Audiences can expect a 360-degree slapstick solo with explosive dance moves, lip syncs and an eccentric array of characters.

In the lead up to the show, Super Culture has initiated a social media campaign urging people to spot photo hidden yellow icons from the show on posters around the town centre and share the images with the hashtag #WestonGoesBananas.

Creative director at Super Culture, Fiona Matthews, said: "There's plenty of spring time bounce and golden moments to be found in this uplifting show from aKa Dance that is bursting with sunny vibes and great energy!

"A Real Fiction is one of a series of fantastic and diverse professional dance shows that we are lucky enough to have in Weston thanks to a partnership with the Rural Touring Dance Initiative."

Doors for A Real Fiction open at 7.30pm at Front Room, 13 Central Walk.

The show will also feature a pre-show skills workshop, free to the public, with the aKa Dance Theatre company from 2pm to 3pm, making this an inclusive event that requires no previous dance experience.

Tickets for the evening performance are available on a pay-what-you-decide basis.

Registration for the pre-show workshop and booking for the show can be done online.

The presentation of 'A Real Fiction' in Weston is a part of the new associate venue programme by the Rural Touring Dance Initiative and is among many performances slated for this year.

Weston's Front Room is one of nine venues in the UK piloting the programme to present diverse dance work and develop new audiences.

More information about year-round events is available on Super Culture's website and social media channels.
