Here at TikTok, safety is one of our top priorities. And as we gear up to welcome new members into the community, it’s even more important to create a safe environment for everyone.

To make TikTok a welcoming community for all, here are some guidelines that we expect our users to follow while creating and viewing content on TikTok:

• Users should always avoid violence and hateful behaviour in the app. Whether it is within the content you create or in the comments you post, do not talk about sensitive topics such as race, religion, politics, sex, violence or discrimination of any form.
• It is highly important for users to stay away from nudity, pornography, or sexually explicit content. The platform strictly prohibits non-consensual sexual acts, sharing of non-consensual intimate imagery, and similar content.
• TikTok places great emphasis on the safety of minors. Users should not involve minors in their videos if it harms the minor in any way, including but not limited to sexual exploitation, targeting, or endangerment in any form.
• While many users focus on creating viral content, TikTok urges creators to not engage in creating any kind of graphic or violent video that will create shock value. Such videos are not welcome on TikTok as they may endanger the community by making people want to imitate such dangerous acts.
• We do not allow any videos depicting harm or cruelty towards animals. Even while creating content involving an animal, users are advised to make sure that the safety of the animal is not compromised.
• At TikTok, we encourage users to create their own unique content. We do not support infringement of trademark, copyrighted work or content that belongs to someone else. Neither do we allow any misleading content on the platform.

If any videos on the platform are found to violate any one of these guidelines, our team will immediately take them down while informing the creator of the guidelines they have broken.With the various tools and settings available on the platform, every user can ensure their own safety by limiting their content visibility, filtering out comments, and more. Users are also encouraged to report any form of harassment they encounter on the platform while blocking the account that it comes from.

Precautions to Be Followed for TikTok Rewards

TikTok Rewards is our attempt at expanding our community of quality creators. While our numbers continue to grow, we only want genuine profiles on the platform. Hence, apart from the guidelines mentioned above, users should also refrain from creating dummy or spam accounts in order to earn additional referral points. This will lead to the TikTok risk management team penalizing and restricting withdrawals on rewards earned through TikTok Rewards. Such accounts, if found, will be barred from participating in TikTok Rewards and will not be able to access the activities page.
