WHITCHURCH Alport FC has made a vital donation to the town’s foodbank that could give people a better Easter this week.
Players and coaches from the Yockings Park club had a collection for the Foodbank, based at Bargates Hall, in Bargates, which was used to buy Easter Eggs.
Bev Allman, speaking on behalf of the club, said they were delighted to be able to make a contribution and said it was a cause close to their hearts.

She said: “The first team manager Adam Shillock wanted to give something back to the community.
“Supporting the foodbank is important to the club – the foodbank does an amazing job supplying the families in town.

“Whitchurch Alport wants to work with the community – only on Saturday they welcomed Little Champs Boxing Group to do the half-time entertainment.
“In November they hold a Veterans Day and half the gate money goes to Poppy Appeal and we give VIP treatment to Whitchurch Veterans Breakfast Club.
“Also, we have a close relationship now with Whitchurch Rotary Club.”
