Ariel Sophia Bardi is a freelance writer and photographer based in Rome. Her work has appeared in the Guardian, the Atlantic, Al Jazeera, Columbia Journalism Review, and other publications. She holds a doctorate from Yale University and has reported from Nepal, India, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Israel and the Palestinian territories, Sri Lanka, and Mexico.
