Translation as a relevant tool for promoting intercultural dialogue 💬 On 6-7 June, our Director-General for Translation Mr Valter Mavrič represented the European Parliament Translation Service at the ‘Building Bridges Across Languages: Human-Centered AI for the Euro-Med’ international conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The conference was co-organised by the Anna Lindh Foundation and the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, and brought together experts and cultural actors involved in #translation to showcase, debate, and advocate for translation as a central tool for intercultural dialogue. This year’s programme focused on the risks and benefits of technological progress and the role of #ArtificialIntelligence in the translation field. In his high-level opening remarks, Mr Mavrič stressed the importance of relying on the unique skills and expertise of human language professionals, while keeping up-to-date with technological innovations in the language industry. He highlighted the everlasting value of language professionals in an era where #AI is rapidly advancing. Take a look at some photos from this inspiring event here 👇
