Moment woman is nearly CRUSHED by huge Taco Bell sign after it fell on top of her car in parking lot

  • The woman, unidentified, was waiting to pick up her food in the parking lot of a local Taco Bell on September 8 when the pole fell on the back end of her car 
  • She has a minor gash on her head and no other serious injuries 
  • The area has been suffering through storm damage since last week 

A Louisiana woman nearly died after a Taco bell sign fell on her car in the aftermath of a severe storm passing through the state last week. 

The woman, unidentified, was waiting to pick up her food in the parking lot of a local Taco Bell on September 8 when the pole fell on the back end of her car and crushed it completely. 

As per the Crowley Police Department, there was only one person in the car at the time of the accident, who was freed and taken to a nearby hospital.

Superintendent of Acadia Parish Scott Richard said: 'EMTs were on sight pretty quick. Emergency personnel were here very quickly. The individual was taken out of the car very carefully and miraculously she was not injured more than what her injuries were.'

'She has a minor gash in her head which led to her getting staples but other then that she will be fine'

The woman reportedly has a minor gash on her head and no other serious injuries. She is being treated at the local hospital.   

Madyson Dailey, daughter of the driver told KATC: 'She called and said her head was bleeding. She was stuck in her car and that a pole fell into her car. 

'She has a minor gash in her head which led to her getting staples but other then that she will be fine.'

 Her mother was waiting in the car lane at the restaurant's drive through to get food, noticed the winds shaking the restaurant sign before it fell right next to her. 

Madyson further said that her mother who was on her way to pick up her siblings from school when she stopped for food.

'It happened at the wrong time at the wrong person but thank god she doesn't have major injuries, just minor and she made it out alive,' she said. 

The region of Crowley was experiencing severe storms last week. As per Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff Ivy Woods, there was an 18-wheeler on I-10 westbound that was knocked over from high winds in Acadia Parish. He said there were several power lines knocked down along with a lot of downed trees in the area.
