Taylor Swift praised by fans after it emerges superstar has donated to charities all across the UK during every leg of her sell out tour with Liverpool foodbank only realising she wanted to donate after they missed a call from an American number

Taylor Swift has been praised by fans after it emerged that the superstar has donated to charities in every city of her sell out UK tour.

The singer started the UK and Europe leg of her Eras tour in May and has so far given money to food bank charities in Edinburgh, Liverpool and Cardiff.

The pop icon, who is one of the richest self-made billionaires in the world, has long been known for her generosity in supporting good causes while also giving up her time to chat to fans after every show during previous tours.

And this trip has been no different with the Shake it Off singer, who earned almost $2billion in 2023 through her music, merchandise, tour and tour film according to Billboard, helping local communities throughout her visit to Britain.

One food bank in Liverpool even reported that they only found out she planned to donate when they missed a call from an American number.

Charlotte Moorcroft, who has been a member of staff at the St Andrew's Community Network (pictured) for three years, praised Swift's selflessness in the wake of the donation

The St Andrew's Community Network, which provides for 11 food banks and eight community food pantries in the north of the city, returned the call on June 20 and discovered Swift's team wanted to give money, The Times reports.

The star, whose latest album The Tortured Poets Department reached number one earlier this year, performed three sold-out shows in Liverpool from June 13 to June 15.

Charlotte Moorcroft, who has been a member of staff at the non-profit organisation for three years, praised Swift's selflessness in the wake of the donation.

She said: 'For her to donate and see the value of what we do is incredible.

'Need is increasing year-on-year and we helped 14,000 people in the last year alone. It says so much about the type of person she is, how selfless and charitable.'

Ms Moorcroft added that the singer's popular tour contributed to the economy in the area as well as all of its charities.

The Edinburgh Food Project, established in 2012, expressed its gratitude to Swift for her donation during her visit to the city.

Bethany Biggar, the director of the charity which runs seven food banks and provides emergency food provision, revealed that the office was delighted when it found out about the generous offer.

She added that other 'Swifties', fans of the singer, had followed suit and donated to the charity, which has handed out 20,00 food parcels across 2023 and 2024 with one in three going to children.

Ms Biggar added that her vast wealth had put Swift in a fortunate position but that she was having an impact on each area she performed at.

Cardiff food bank confirmed on Instagram and Facebook that the artist had donated, adding that the development was 'beyond their wildest dreams'.

The All Too Well singer performed at the city's Principality Stadium on June 18.

Alison Romero, who has been to 14 of the star's concerts already in 2024 and plans to go to ten more before the year has finished, praised Swift's philanthropy.

The 26-year-old said: 'I have seen Swift donating to food banks on the American tour, and I would like to say she has donated to every city she has been to.'

The superfan recalled that the singer had invited 2,000 foster children and adoption families to attend a special rehearsal in 2018, while during Covid she gave to small record stores and individuals on GoFundMe.

Ms Romero pointed out that many people criticise Swift for taking private jets but rarely draw attention to all the money she donates.

She added that the superstar often makes donations which no one finds out about so the true scale of her generosity is not clear.
