Bryson DeChambeau offers to host golf match between Donald Trump and Joe Biden after Presidential debate descended into bizarre handicap row

Bryson DeChambeau has offered to help take the Presidential debate from the podium to the tee box after Donald Trump and Joe Biden trailed off into golf handicap trash talk Thursday night.

Thursday's US Presidential debate teetered off the rails as the two elderly candidates traded jabs about each other’s golf games after they answered questions from CNN moderator Dana Bash about concerns voters have expressed about their age.

Their bickering descended into Trump, 78, and Biden, 81, engaging in a standoff over their handicaps.

Following the bizarre exchange of barbs, US Open champion DeChambeau, who prevailed at Pinehurst No. 2 earlier this month, offered a solution to settle the debate - golfing, not Presidential - once and for all.

'Let’s settle this whole handicap debate, I’ll host the golf match on my YouTube @realDonaldTrump @JoeBiden,' the LIV Golf player posted to X.

DeChambeau has undergone somewhat of a transformation since abandoning the PGA Tour, beginning his YouTube channel, which boasts 613,000 subscribers.

He shares videos such as his Break 50 series with the likes of golf glamour girl Paige Spiranac and challenge videos such as trick shots and rounds with Walmart clubs.

Biden and Trump aren't the first high-profile personalities he's extended an offer to either, recently issuing an invitation to Kansas City Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.

Trump had sparked the fairway dispute by boasting about winning a pair of championships at his own Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach, a club championship and a senior championship trophy.

'To do that, you have to be quite smart, and you have to be able to be quite smart, and you have to be able to hit the ball a long way. And I do it. He doesn't do it. He can't hit a ball 50 yards.

Then Biden appeared to mock Trump for fudging his height and weight.

'You can see he is 6 foot five and only 225 pounds,' Biden responded, as Trump shook his head. 'I'd be happy to have a driving contest with him.'

Biden said he got his golf handicap down to a 6, which sparked a pained expression of disbelief from his opponent.

The American hoisted the US Open trophy for a second time at Pinehurst earlier this month

‘I’d be happy to play golf with you if you carry your own bag. Think you can do it?’ Biden asked him.

‘Let’s not act like children,’ Trump said.

'You are a child,' said Biden, getting in the last word.

DeChambeau, who defected to the Saudi-backed LIV circuit in 2022, recently toasted his second major victory with the Trump family.

After prevailing over Rory McIlroy in North Carolina, the 30-year-old headed down to Trump's Westchester National Golf Club where he was spotted celebrating his triumph with Eric Trump by drinking red wine out of the trophy.

The former President also sent DeChambeau a message of congratulations after he won the US Open for the second time in his career before things seemed to get boozy.

'You have it all, you have the long ball and everything else,' Trump said in a short video shared to Instagram by his attorney, Alina Habba.

Trump can also be heard quoting someone in the clip who had told him DeChambeau could be compared to the golfing great, Arnold Palmer.

The former President and American professional golfer are no strangers to one another

Eric's wife Lara Lea posted a clip of DeChambeau hitting glow-in-the-dark golf balls far into the distance as onlooking spectators let out huge cheers.

DeChambeau and Trump are no strangers to one another having played together during LIV Golf pro-am events at the former President's Bedminster Golf Club in New Jersey.

Trump, who has close ties to LIV, posted a congratulatory message to fellow American DeChambeau on Truth Social on Sunday night and even appeared to dig out McIlroy following a US Open that will be remembered for the Northern Irishman's agonizing collapse.

He spoke of 'toughness and inner strength', as well as praising LIV golf - which McIlroy has been a fierce critic of in the past.
