Michael Jordan's 'new 82-foot $15million yacht fails to place in $7.5m deep-sea fishing tournament' off North Carolina coast

Michael Jordan's latest adventure into deep sea fishing did not go as swimmingly as he may have hoped.

Jordan reportedly entered his newest boat, a yacht named 'Catch 23', in the 66th annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament in Morehead City, North Carolina, according to TMZ.

He was hoping to catch a piece of the prize pool - which totaled $7.5million in cash.

Unfortunately, Jordan's crew of seven anglers and a captain failed to place and therefore, took home no money over the weekend. The basketball legend was not competing in the tournament himself.

The biggest fish caught at the weekend was reeled in by a boat named Game Time which hauled in a 516-pounder.

Jordan's new $15 million yacht measures 82-feet, according to the tournament website

By comparison, Catch 23 only brought in an accumulated total of 400 pounds of fish throughout the weekend.

The boat that Jordan's team competed in was a brand new $15million vessel that spans 82 feet.

For comparison's sake, that's less than 1 percent of Jordan's reported $3.6 billion net worth.

Jordan only recently acquired the boat - which bared the Catch 23 name similar to others he previously competed in.

In 2020, Jordan's boat came second to last in the same tournament - despite catching a 442.3 pound fish.

The vessel has been successful in other tournaments - like the 32nd annual MidAtlantic Fishing tournament's white marlin division back in August of 2023.
