The Whenever, Wherever singer, 47, worked her magic in low-cut swimsuit adorned with golden accents as she ran her hands through her glossy blonde waves.

Her gorgeous complexion shone with mascara, blush, and a slick of lip gloss.

Shakira opened up about her life after splitting from long-term partner Gerard Pique, whom she shares sons Milan, 11, and Sasha, nine, with.

The music icon vulnerably described the sacrifices she made during her relationship and how she has begun to find herself again since their split.

'When you leave a relationship of many years, there are things about yourself that seem to have been lost along the way,' she told the publication.

'There's things about yourself that you change for the other person or give up. When that relationship breaks down, you feel like you're left with nothing and you have to heal, search for yourself, and travel back toward the center of yourself,' she said to Rolling Stone.

Shakira made Gerard and their children her top priority during their relationship and even moved to Barcelona for him, as he played soccer for FC Barcelona.

But during her time in Spain, Shakira noticed certain things about her were changing.

'I was in sweatpants in Barcelona!' she told the outlet. Referencing the glossy pants she was wearing, she added, 'I mean, these are sweatpants, but they're Amiri. In Barcelona, I was wearing sweatpants from the Gap, with my hair in a bun.'

Shakira and Gerard began dating in 2011 but then split up last year amid rumors he cheated on her.

She has since moved to Miami with their children and is happy to report her Caribbean accent is beginning to return.

'My accent! My Caribbean accent is back now that I'm out of Spain,' she gushed.  'Now I'm hanging out with Barranquilleras from my kid's school and surrounded by Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Colombians. Yeah, my accent is back, thank God.'

She also has got her 'sexy back.'

'More swag. I got my swag back. And I got my sexy back,' she says.

It's a remarkably positive turnaround from the pain Shakira endured two years ago, when she split from Gerard and was embroiled in a tax evasion legal battle in Spain.

Her father, who was 90 years old at the time, had also suffered a terrible fall. He is now on the mend following six surgeries.

Speaking of that time, she said: 'The suffering I felt was probably the greatest I had ever experienced in my entire life, and it kept me from functioning at times.'

'It felt like someone had stabbed a hole in my chest. And the sensation was so real, almost physical. I physically felt like I had a hole in my chest and that people could see through me,' she added.

In April, Shakira insisted she still believes in love and is holding out hope of finding a romance like that of her parents, who have been together for 50 years, with the star describing monogamy as 'uptopia'.

Shakira told Marie Claire: 'I was in search for that man like my dad, who I’d have kids with and then make plans to be with forever – like my parents, who are still so in love.

'I made many sacrifices for this. I was loyal. But sometimes things don’t go as planned. You move on.'

Insisting she still believes in love, she added: 'I cannot say that I don’t believe in love because I see the example of my parents after 50 years together; how they look into each other’s eyes and hold hands and can’t live apart from each other.

'I’ve witnessed love, I just haven’t been that lucky myself. Monogamy is a utopia.'
