Eva Longoria, 49, reveals she's proud of her 'very cultured' six-year-old son Santiago who 'understands and appreciates other cultures'

Eva Longoria is a doting mother and is proud of her 'very cultured' son.

The Desperate Housewives star, 49 — who recently showed off her sizzling style — explained that her six-year-old son, Santiago, has a passion for learning about other cultures.

'You know what I love is, he’s always with me when I’m working,' she said while on the Today Show on Thursday.

'If we’re in Spain, we just all go to Spain. If we’re in Rome, we’re all in Rome. And he’s very cultured,' the Texas native expressed.

She went on to give example of what her son would say: '"Oh mom, can we have macaroons if you go to Paris? We can eat jamón when we’re in Spain."'

The actress explained, 'I just love how global he’s growing up, and understands and appreciates other cultures and other languages.'

They said 'I do' back in 2016 and welcomed the youngster on June 19, 2018, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Santiago is the first child for Eva, but the fifth for José, who was previously married to Mexican actress Natalia Esperon.

His other children are Natalia, born February 1996, and triplets Mariana, José and Sebastian, all born November 2016, however, Sebastian died shortly after being born.

When asked in a 2019 interview what the secret is to her happy marriage, Eva explained that she and her husband have respect for each other, and support each other's goals and dreams.

The star said: 'When I was younger it was so much about what I needed to accomplish.

'I've accomplished so much already that I can really sit back now and enjoy the success and continue to dream bigger with a partner.'

The couple initially met on a December 2013 blind date arranged by a mutual friend in Mexico City, with Eva revealing her future husband had no idea who she was.

Longoria made her television debut in 1999 as a host on L.A. In A Day, before landing roles on Beverly Hills 90210 and General Hospital.

She is best known for acting in ABC's 2003 comedy-drama Desperate Housewives which ran from 2004 to 2012.
