Everton undone by comeback

Everton suffered their third consecutive Premier League defeat of the season against Bournemouth on Saturday – and it will probably have registered as the most deflating yet for Sean Dyche’s side.

The Toffees led 2-0 after 86 minutes of the match at Goodison Park through goals by Michael Keane and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. But their composure deserted them after Antoine Semenyo halved the deficit in the 87th minute, and stoppage-time goals by Lewis Cook and Luis Sinisterra made it 2-3.

Everton are now 13/8 fourth favourites to be relegated and prop up the Premier League without a point to their name and with a goal difference of minus eight.

Above them in the Premier League relegation odds are the promoted trio of Leicester City (4/11), Southampton (4/7) and Ipswich Town (10/11), all of whom are in the bottom six.

Leicester were beaten 2-1 at home by Aston Villa and are 15th, with a single point to their name; Southampton are above Everton only on goal difference after losing 3-1 at Brentford; and Ipswich earned their first point of the season at home to Fulham and are 17th.

Completing the top six in the betting are Wolves (11/4) and Nottingham Forest, who drew 1-1 at the City Ground on Saturday. That was Wolves’ first point and they complete the bottom three in the table, while Forest, with a win and two draws, are unbeaten and a lofty ninth in the table.
