Zoomerang hoped to improve its user retention rate and customer lifetime value by introducing a way for people to share videos to Reels quickly and easily.

Introducing Facebook Sharing to Reels

Zoomerang’s in-house team worked with Meta for Developers to implement the Facebook Sharing to Reels API, which helps teams place and add the sharing icon within their ecosystem. After using documentation provided by Meta, Zoomerang integrated the API in three days, and launched the new sharing function.

Soaring shares

Since launching Facebook Sharing to Reels in June 2022, Zoomerang has experienced a significant increase in video sharing rates as well as paid user retention, including the following:

  • 30% increase in video shares to all social media platforms (data between June and July 2022 compared to data between January and May 2022)
  • 15% increase in paid subscribers (data between June and July 2022 compared to data between January and May 2022)
  • 23% increase in subscriber retention rate (data between June and July 2022 compared to data between January and May 2022)
