How can we create quality jobs for young people living in rural areas to tackle the growing global #hunger and #poverty crisis? Rural youth face the double challenges of age-specific vulnerabilities and underdevelopment of rural areas, limiting their job options. This undermines socio-economic stability, fueling food insecurity, inequality and migration. In 2017, Germany's #G20 presidency launched an Initiative to boost rural youth employment, notably in Africa. Five years later, the G20 Development Working Group assessed its progress. Now, as Brazil's G20 presidency focuses on fighting hunger, poverty and inequality, lessons from the Initiative can aid the proposed Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty. 👇 Join our webinar with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to hear about efforts by G20 countries, international organisations and civil society to create rural jobs. Participants will discuss scaling up effective approaches to support rural development policies and meet developing countries' priorities.
