Accessibility Champions Network

The Accessibility Champions Network connects people in order to remove barriers from BBC products & services. The network exists to spread knowledge around the organisation so we can share our strengths and support each other.

The network is run by the UX&D digital accessibility team based in the BBC Product Group with a dedicated community manager. The network welcomes members who create content for internal or external audiences.

What does the network offer?

The champions network offers a range of benefits to members such as:

  • Peer support including a slack community and networking events.
  • Expert input from the accessibility team, who provide insight and support around broader topics including policy and legislation.
  • Opportunities for public speaking and engagement with the accessibility community outside of the BBC. Champions have given talks around the world from the US to Sweden.
  • A great perspective on accessibility across the BBC.
  • Training & Resources to build skills and support your day to day work.
