When will your child be taking their GCSEs in 2024?

Your child will be preparing for their GCSE exams, so it is good to know the dates they will take place so you can best support your child during this time. Though these dates may change closer to the exam period, we have collated the most up-to-date exam dates published by each exam board for you to use as a general guide.

GCSE exams will take place from Monday, 6 May and continue until Friday, 21 June.

It is important to be aware that your child may have non-exam assessments, such as modern foreign language speaking tests and practical science experiments, which could take place before this period due to individual schools deciding the date they take place.

The following GCSE maths exams will take place on Thursday, 16 May (morning)

  • AQA maths paper 1 - foundation and higher

  • CCEA Mathematics units 1 and 2 - foundation

  • CCEA Mathematics units 3 and 4 - higher

  • Edexcel maths paper 1 - foundation and higher

The following GCSE maths exams will take place on Monday, 10 June (morning)

  • AQA maths paper 3 - foundation and higher

Other dates

WJEC maths unit 2 for all tier students will take place in the morning of Tuesday, 12 June 2024.
