Who celebrates Easter?

Easter is an important festival in the Christian calendar. It celebrates Jesus rising from the dead, three days after he died on the cross.

When is Easter?

The date of Easter Sunday is different every year. It is celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon, on or after 21 March.

In 2024 Easter Sunday is on 31 March.

How is Easter celebrated?

On Easter Sunday, Christians may attend a special church service. However, you do not have to be Christian to celebrate Easter. Non-religious people or people from other faiths may choose to celebrate Easter in some way too.
