Tip 1: Use the old to make the new!

Want to breathe life into an old and dusty piece of clothing? Then try to up-cycle it!

  • You could sew some colourful patches to an old shirt (with an adult's permission!).
  • Not a fan of sewing? Try mixing and matching clothes you already have to see what works together.

In Style it Out: Episode Two, Clara finds a silver handbag chain that she turns into a necklace.

Tip 2: Add some bling

You don't just have to add more fabric or clothes, because fashion is all about the accessories!

  • Try seeing how styling your outfit with old necklaces, watches, gloves and watches can make it look even better.
  • Can't find any jewellery to use? Try making your own!

Tip 3: Swapping is the new buying

You don't need to buy new clothes to make a wardrobe!

  • With an adult's permission, try swapping some old clothes with a friend, someone's trash is someone else's fashion treasure.
  • You can also try some cheaper shopping options like getting new clothes from a charity shop.

In Style it Out: Episode Three, the designers paint old handbags to give them a spooky Halloween makeover.

Tip 4: Don't like sewing? Try painting

You don't have to be a stunning seamstress to be a style icon!

  • With an adult's permission, try painting old bags or clothes (fabric paint is ideal here) to give them a stylish twist.
  • This is perfect for big flat pieces of clothing like t-shirts, you can put anything you want on them.
