Surrey MP named deputy chair of Conservative Party

A Surrey MP has been made a deputy chair of the Conservative Party following a government reshuffle.
Angela Richardson, who represents Guildford, was appointed by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak after two ministers quit their roles on Tuesday.
Ms Richardson, originally from New Zealand, was first elected as a member of Parliament in 2019.
In a post on Facebook, she said: "Delighted to be appointed Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party. Looking forward to getting stuck in."
Party chairman Richard Holden said he was "delighted" to announce her appointment.
He said on X (formerly Twitter): "She is a very hardworking local MP."
Stoke-on-Trent North MP Jonathan Gullis has also been made a deputy chair of the party.
