Former Royal Marine and broadcaster JJ Chalmers and historian Professor Helen Parr from Keele University share stories from people whose lives have been intertwined with the Falklands War.

The Falklands War began on 2 April 1982 when Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands, a British Overseas Territory, 8,000 miles away in the South Atlantic.

Despite these huge distances, Britain – then under the leadership of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher - sent a task force to reclaim the islands.

The Falklands War ended with the surrender of Argentinian forces on 14 June 1982.
