Casement Park: Former Irish president Mary McAleese on the planned renovation of GAA stadium

Former Irish president Mary McAleese tells BBC Sport NI that it is right that Casement Park will be open to other sporting codes.

Her comments come after the Irish government announced on Tuesday that it was allocating €50 million for the redevelopment of the west Belfast stadium.

The gaelic games venue is due to host matches during the Euro 2028 soccer tournament with a deadline, set by European football's governing body Uefa, for redevelopment work to be completed by mid-2027.
