QPR have signed striker Michael Frey on a permanent transfer from Belgian side Royal Antwerp.

The 29-year-old Swiss has scored 33 goals in 69 games since joining the Belgian top tier side in July 2021.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at FC Schalke 04 and has also had spells at Fenerbahce, Young Boys and FC Zurich.

QPR boss Marti Cifuentes said Frey was a "proven goalscorer across a number of leagues and countries".

"He can be decisive in the final third, he has high energy which fits into how we want to play because he can help us to press high up the pitch, and he is a clever player too," Cifuentes told the club website.BBC Russian

Frey was at Loftus Road on Sunday and was introduced to fans before QPR's Championship match with Huddersfield.

"QPR is a big club with a big history, a beautiful stadium and top fans. To play in the UK for Swiss players is a big thing so I was very happy when I heard for the first time about QPR's interest," Frey said.
