Match ends, Huddersfield Town 1, Hull City 2.
Hull City kept their chase for a Championship play-off place on track with a stunning late win over Huddersfield Town at the John Smith's Stadium.
Jacob Greaves, captain in the absence of Lewie Coyle, struck his second goal four minutes into stoppage time, having opened the scoring early in the first half on his 200th career appearance.
Jack Rudoni thought he had snatched a late point for Town just minutes earlier.
The Tigers remain eighth, level on points with sixth-placed Coventry and Norwich City, in seventh.
Hull took the lead inside seven minutes when Greaves fired through the crowd past Town goalkeeper Lee Nicholls after Ozan Tufan's corner was not cleared properly.
Just before the half-hour mark, Hull went close again as swift passing play brought them forward with intent, before Anass Zaroury struck narrowly wide of the post.
Hull's progress was checked by an enforced change when Tyler Morton was replaced by Matty Jacob, and moments before the break, Ryan Allsopp was forced into action to deny Huddersfield's Ben Wiles a leveller.
As the hour approached, the home side asked the question again when Sorbia Thomas found Rudoni, who looked to square into the box but nobody was there to finish.
Thomas almost levelled himself with just over 10 minutes remaining, but his effort struck the post, and Terriers pressure was growing.
It looked like it paid off when Rudoni struck from outside the area after being found by Brahima Diarra, but Greaves sent the away fans wild with a header from Abdulkadir Omur's cross.
Huddersfield interim manager Jon Worthington told BBC Radio Leeds:
"I'm deflated, so are the players. We were pretty dominant second half and the equaliser was fair. To switch off at the end was cruel; the players have been amazing for me.
"The squad has enough to stay up. We've gone toe to toe with Southampton, Hull and Sunderland. Unforrunately the result today didn't go our way."
Hull boss Liam Rosenior speaking to BBC Radio Humberside:
"I'm trying to develop a spirit and a togetherness. That won us the game today; our football performance wasn't as good as normal. It is not going to be perfect every week, you have to find a way.
"Greavsy deserved the two goals. His defensive display was really good. To come back the way we did shows a lot about the lads' character and desire to be successful."

Jacob Greaves all us Rangers fans salute you.
I was upset by the neanderthal comments from opposition fans after the match, all at high volume in (swear) words of one syllable. Oh, how proud their parents must be.
Top time-wasting lads.
Cruel way for Town to lose it in the end.
