Cymru Premier: Aberystwyth Town fined by FAW over Pontypridd postponement

Aberystwyth Town have been fined £5,000, with £2,500 suspended, after the late postponement of their Cymru Premier game at Pontypridd United.
A Football Association of Wales (FAW) disciplinary panel found Aberystwyth had brought the league into disrepute.
They did so by "failing to ensure a physiotherapist or sports therapist was present" for the Pontypridd fixture, the FAW said.
Half the fine is suspended until the end of next season.
The FAW says Aber will have to pay the additional £2,500 if they bring the league into disrepute at any point until the end of 2024-25.
Aberystwyth have the right to appeal against the decision up until 9 April, the day when they will face Pontypridd in their rearranged game.
Aberystwyth had originally been due to go to Pontypridd on 9 March.
Speaking after the fixture was postponed, Aberystwyth boss Anthony Williams said the club's physiotherapist was taken ill on the morning of the game.
Although the club drafted in first aid cover, they did not have the medical qualifications required by the league.
Pontypridd manager Gavin Allen confirmed to S4C's Sgorio that his team's physiotherapist had been asked to step in, but the request was turned down.
Aberystwyth are currently fourth in the Cymru Premier's play-off conference, with Pontypridd two points and one place below them.
Pontypridd have been deducted nine points this season for fielding ineligible players.
