Dundee United moved seven points clear at the top of the Scottish Championship with a commanding win at Morton.
Ross Docherty's header gave United the advantage and Glenn Middleton soon struck from close range after getting the break of the ball off Tony Watt.
Louis Moult tapped in from close range following Craig Sibbald's mis-hit shot and Watt capitalised on Jack Baird's error to run in the visitors' fourth.
Robbie Muirhead reacted well in the penalty area to net Morton's reply.
With four more second-tier games on Saturday, Raith Rovers can move back to within four points of United if they win at home to Partick Thistle. There are three more rounds of fixtures to play after Saturday's games.
Morton, who are sixth, trail Dunfermline by a point while Airdrieonians occupy the final promotion play-off place with a six-point advantage over the Pars.
Morton manager Dougie Imrie: "Bitterly disappointed. We gifted Dundee United two poor goals first half and another two poor goals from our point of view second half. It was always going to be an uphill struggle. There's no excuses. From start to finish we were really poor."
Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin: "Job done as far as we're concerned. We're hitting a bit of form at the right time. Some of the goals were really good. We had to fight really hard for every goal. It was about winning those individual battles. We can't rest on our laurels now, we've put ourselves in a great position. Keep pushing."
