Guernsey FC's losing run was extended to six games as Westfield came from a goal down to beat the islanders 2-1.

Matt Loaring had Guernsey's best effort in a goalless first half as play-off chasing Westfield tested the islanders.

Sam Murray put Guernsey ahead with 16 minutes left as he robbed the keeper and scored into the unguarded net.

But two minutes later Manolis Gogonas equalised with a long-range curling shot before Mayowa Adaje got an 80th-minute winner from outside the box.

Guernsey have now gone almost a month without getting a point as they slipped to 17th in Isthmian League South Central, while sixth-placed Westfield remain one place off a play-off spot.

"Our resources were stretched a bit today, but we set ourselves up to to try and be solid defensively, have a foundation there, but more importantly it was to allow them to come onto us so that we could try and hit them on the counter," Guernsey FC manager Tony Vance told BBC Radio Guernsey.

"For 95% of that first half I thought we were brilliant and the idea of getting the counter opportunities was to try and hurt them and win the game - we weren't here for a 0-0.

"I thought the players were brilliant today and nearly got over the line."
