  1. Post update

    Henry Moeran

    BBC Two

That is a huge moment in the game.

  2. WICKET

    Lyth c Pollard b Maxwell 0 (Superchargers 5-1)

The crowd is silent. Spin is the key.

Lyth just dollied it up to mid on where Pollard gobbled it up. This was a match-up the Spirit would have set before the game and the plan has worked.

  3. Post update

Interestingly both Alex Hartley and Saqib Mahmood backing Spirit to win this one...

  4. Spirit on the charge

Let's remember that London Spirit only managed one win in their entire campaign last year. They've already tripled that and they've only played three games.

Jordan Thompson has been a great addition to this side and not just because his eyebrow/headband game is so strong.

He took 2-32 against the defending champions Southern Brave and he's just got that ability to make something happen.

Daniel Bell-Drummond is also coming off the back of a player of the match performance where he hit 46. It took a run out to get rid of him and maybe we'll blame the heat for that!

  5. 'Big scores on the cards'

    Alex Hartley

Former England bowler on BBC Two

I think there is only Edgbaston that's seen bigger scores so far than here. I'm really excited to see both these teams. Eoin Morgan has gone incredibly well, and Adam Lyth has been hitting it to all parts.

  6. Invincibles women win the toss and bowl

It's Oval Invincibles v Southern Brave in south London this afternoon. The home side have won the toss and have put the Brave in to bat.

The big team news for the Invincibles is that captain Dane van Niekerk is out, Suzie Bates will step in as skipper, but Marizanne Kapp returns after missing their first match.

Alice Capsey is also out with the ankle injury she sustained in that opening win.

For the Brave, all-rounder Tahlia McGrath is available to make her first appearance in The Hundred. That's a big boost for them.

We'll keep you updated with everything going on at The Oval throughout the game.

Oval Invincibles: Suzie Bates (c), Lauren Winfield-Hill (wk), Aylish Cranstone, Marizanne Kapp, Mady Villiers, Kira Chathli, Kirstie White, Eva Gray, Ryana Macdonald-Gay, Shabnim Ismail, Sophia Smale.

Southern Brave: Smriti Mandhana, Danni Wyatt, Sophia Dunkley, Tahlia McGrath, Maia Bouchier, Georgia Adams, Freya Kemp, Amanda-Jade Wellington, Anya Shrubsole (c), Carla Rudd (wk), Lauren Bell.

  7. 'Bayliss at heart of Spirit success'

    Saqib Mahmood

    England bowler on BBC Two

"I give a lot of credit to Trevor Bayliss. He manages to get the best out of players and that partnership he has had with Eoin Morgan over recent years has been a big part of the Spirit's success this year."

  8. How they line up

Northern Superchargers: Faf du Plessis (c), Adam Lyth, Michael Pepper (wk), David Willey, Harry Brook, Adam Hose, Roelof van der Merwe, DJ Bravo, Wahab Riaz, Adil Rashid, Craig Miles.

London Spirit: Daniel Bell-Drummond, Adam Rossington (wk), Dan Lawrence, Glenn Maxwell, Eoin Morgan (c), Kieron Pollard, Liam Dawson, Jordan Thompson, Nathan Ellis, Mason Crane, Brad Wheal.

  9. Superchargers win the toss and bat

Captain Faf du Plessis not particularly swayed either way but thinks it might slow a bit later on. Eoin Morgan says he would also have been keen to bat.

One change at Spirit as Zak Crawley joins up with England. Dan Lawrence in to replace him.

Superchargers looking strong with the return of both Harry Brook from Lions duty and David Willey after injury.

The sun is out. The ground is quick. There could be lots of runs here.

  10. North v South; England's purest rivalry

It's a tale as old as time. Yes, there's the Ashes, the London Derby and the battle of the Roses but there really is very little that encapsulates pure unadulterated English rivalry like a battle between the North and the South.

Georgie with you this arvo to guide you calmly (or perhaps less calmly) through the first 100 balls of this battle between Northern Superchargers men and London Spirit men.

I'm sure someone once said Sunday was a day of rest?!

Well, they were wrong. There's no resting on a double double header Hundred day.

We've already seen the women play and the North emerge victorious with the Northern Superchargers beating the London Spirit by 5 runs thanks to a great batting display from Bess Heath and some clinical bowling.

Now, the men are hoping to make it an all-purple affair on their home ground.

  11. Northern Superchargers men vs London Spirit men

Now it's time for the men. Eoin Morgan's London Spirit are a transformed side from the one that won just a single game in 2021. They are currently unbeaten in three games this year and are riding high having dismantled the defending champions Southern Brave just four days ago. The Northern Superchargers, however, won their first game of the campaign but are coming off the back of two defeats and in need of a victory if they are to remain hopeful of a spot in the top three.

For the team in purple, it's about righting the wrongs and cutting out the silly fielding errors. Dropped catches were had a huge impact in their loss to the Oval Invincibles. While there has been some talk about the sun having an impact (it's something they're not used to seeing up North) it's a truth universally acknowledged that catches win matches and they need to take those today.

Let's not forget the power of the crowd. We all know about the Western Terrace and what a sunny afternoon drinking anything but water can bring to a game. "Feed the snake anyone?" For the Superchargers, this might be just what they need to push them over the line.

Meanwhile, if any of you have any tips as to how I stay cool, calm and collected throughout this afternoon of mega action, all suggestions are welcome. I've just about calmed down after that nail-biter of a finish between Welsh Fire and Birmingham Phoenix so I'm ready for more. I hope you are too! If you missed any of the action, you can catch the highlights and best bits on the Hundred Drop.

So, the freezer is stocked with ice creams, the long hair is well out of the way in a top knot and my typing fingers are ready to go faster than Imran Tahir on a celebratory run.

Here we go, it's time for Northern Superchargers against London Spirit.
