England beat India to close on World Cup semi-final spot - reaction

South Africa skipper Sune Luus: "I think it's a good toss to lose. We were leaning towards batting first. I think the wicket looks amazing. It's seam friendly and will be challenge. We have made one change with Masabata Klaas in for Ayabonga Khaka."

Australia skipper Meg Lanning: "Hopefully we can start well. Alyssa Healy is missing with a quad problem so Annabel Sutherland comes in. It's just precautionary with Alyssa. Hopefully we can make up for her absence. Beth Mooney will take the gloves."

England captain Heather Knight: "We talk a lot about trying to fit our mindset to the conditions and my partnership with Nat did that. It was a really key partnership and it is really nice to have that depth in our batting line-up. I thought Amy in particular was outstanding.

"They bowled really well. Thakur was outstanding, nipping the ball both ways. It was a really good toss to win. Nat manipulated the field really well. It was a really complete batting performance.

"It is a real confidence-booster. We haven't really played against a really big team recently and to perform like that against a really good India side is really confident. It feels like we are building nicely. I thought Sophie [Ecclestone] and Sarah [Glenn] were outstanding again today. We've got people in form and we read conditions really well and took pace when needed and kept the stumps in play.

"Our ground fielding was outstanding today, the best we've fielded in the tournament. A couple of chances went down today, which happens sometimes, but when you're in big games and players like Smriti Mandhana you can't afford to give them second chances."

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur: "I think we started well but in the middle overs we didn't bowl to our plans and gave away too many runs. I think in batting we were doing well but not quite able to get where needed to be.

"When the rain came we were 10 or 12 runs behind but thought we could have recovered it. There are some areas we need to improve on, but some of the batters still did really well."

On Renuka Singh Thakur, who finished with 5-15: "She bowled well. She is always looking for wickets. It's great to see her doing so well."

England are top of the group with three wins out of three and have one foot in the semi-finals.

Player of the match, England all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt: "It was tough. They were getting it to seam a lot. Thakur bowled brilliantly and get the stumps in play all the time. We had to soak it up but put our front foot forward too.

"If I get any in the middle of the bat it is a nice feeling but it take a while to get used to the pace of the pitch and take the account to the bowlers.

"It looked different today. We didn't get off to the start we have been at the start but I thought we did well in the middle to not forget about the boundaries and Amy Jones came in and played a brilliant knock.

"I did get caught whistling and dancing along to the band but it is great to play infront of people who want to watch us."

Nat Sciver-Brunt is named player of the match for her 50 off 42 balls. We'll hear from her shortly.

With the exception of that final over it was a good performance by England as they kept their cool at key moments - both with the bat, in the field and with the ball.
