  1. Goodnight

Well it's probably been the first proper day - afternoon at least - of cricket season with warmth and sunshine in most places.

And we've been treated to some good action with Warwickshire and Notts winning in Division One, Durham and Yorkshire battling out a thriller and Glamorgan also victorious in Division Two.

Still six games to bring you a conclusion from tomorrow, so join us from 10:50 BST.

  2. Close of play at Canterbury

    Kent 95 & 66-0 v Hampshire 373

Liam Dawson is armed with a convoy of close fielders for the final over of the day for Hampshire, but no joy.

Kent have negotiated 26 overs in the final session unscathed but they still face an uphill task to save the game.

Ben Compton (30) and Zak Crawley (35) reached stumps on 66-0, not without the odd alarm.

The hosts still need another 213 runs just to make Hampshire bat a second time, but I don't think they'll be in a hurry to get to that point.

Yet, the pitch is low and slow and it could take a big effort to prise out 10 wickets on Sunday.

  3. Close of play at Grace Road

    Leics 270 & 16-0 (f/o) v Sussex 430

Leicestershire openers Rishi Patel and Sol Budinger survive six overs after being asked to follow-on.

An intriguing final day in prospect.

  4. Close of play at Chester-le-Street

    Durham 213-8 (Target: 246) v Yorks

Yorkshire were hoping to win the game in these eight extra overs.

But it's Durham who have benefitted to get right back in the game.

They were 173-8 but will now have 33 more to get in the morning.

Ben Raine walks off 32 not out with Matty Potts on 13.

They did not want the day to end.

Yorkshire will hope a good night's kip will help them find the two remaining wickets tomorrow.

  5. Post update

    Kent 95 & 60-0 v Hampshire 373

Just two overs for Ben Compton (29) and Zak Crawley (30) to hold out this evening.

It's been a jittery 24 overs, but so far effective.

  6. Post update

    Durham 209-8 (Target: 246) v Yorks

Last over of the day coming up with the sun shining on Chester-le-Street.

    Durham need 38 more.

  7. WICKET and close of play at Old Trafford

    George Bartlett b Mahmood 12 (Lancashire 326 v Somerset 361 & 114-3)

Saqib Mahmood bowls George Bartlett for 12 in the final over and that's stumps at Old Trafford.

A lovely ball from the right-armer who gets one to nip back between Bartlett's bat and pad.

Somerset have started positively, but after all the time lost to weather in this match they face a tough task to set up a realistic target with time enough to bowl out their opponents.

Tom Abell made a quick 48 and Tom Lammonby is unbeaten on 40 as the visitors close 149 runs ahead with seven second-innings wickets in hand.

The pitch has certainly behaved itself under unbroken blue skies and sunshine.

  8. Post update

    Durham 204-8 (Target 246) v Yorks

Two overs remaining at Chester-le-Street and Yorkshire are yet to strike in extra overs.

The target is down to 42 and at the moment, it's Durham who don't want to go off with this partnership going really well.

It's now worth 31 for the ninth wicket with Ben Raine 26 not out.

    A superb game this.

  9. Close of play at Derby

    Derbyshire 251-9 dec v Gloucestershire 195-5

Probably just about honours even on day three.

But if Gloucestershire can get a decent lead on the final day there might be some pressure on Derbyshire in their second innings.

The visitors trail by 56 at stumps.

  10. Close of play at The Oval

    Surrey v Middlesex 128-3 trail by 43

Middlesex have got to the close in steady shape.

Max Holden will sleep 42 not out with John Simpson on 10.

Earlier, Jamie Smith made 97 for Surrey, Sean Abbott 48 and then 32 from Dan Worrall at number 11 pushed the first-innings lead out to 171.

Which means Middlesex will still have to bat for a very long time on day four to save the game.

  11. up for Durham

    Durham 200-8 (Target: 246) v Yorks

Where there's Ben Raine, there's hope for Durham.

He's got himself to 23 not out and if the tail can stick around with him, Durham might be able to pull this out of the fire.

Matty Potts going okay for now.

Four overs left in added time.

  12. Post update

    Kent 95 & 55-0 v Hampshire 373

James Fuller looks the bowler most likely to make the breakthrough for Hampshire late on day three.

He beats Zak Crawley outside the off stump for a third, or perhaps fourth, time this innings.

Can Kent see this out without damage? There's six overs left.

  13. up for Lancashire

    Lancashire 326 v Somerset 361 & 104-2

Somerset are building their lead nicely here at Old Trafford.

The visitors are going at more than four an over, with Tom Lammonby moving to 38 and George Bartlett on seven.

They are 139 in front with four overs left today.

Will it be a fifth straight draw for Lancashire this season?

  14. up for Kent

    Kent 95 & 51-0 v Hampshire 373

Zak Crawley and Ben Compton have quietly ticked along.

They scored a combined seven runs in the first innings, but have put on an unbroken 51-run opening partnership in 18 overs.

Crawley has 23 and Compton is four runs better off.

The Kent first knock lasted two balls shy of 38 overs.

They have another eight overs to get through today and reach base camp.

  15. Post update

    Durham 191-8 (Target: 246) v Yorks

They've bowled the allocation at Chester-le-Street but the umpires are happy to allow extra-time to try and get a result tonight.

Eight more overs for Yorkshire to find two more wickets.

Do Durham have a late rally in them? 55 more needed.

  16. Division Two latest

Leicestershire are all out for 270 in their first innings against Sussex with England all-rounder Rehan Ahmed unbeaten on 59. But that's a deficit of 160 so you'd expect Sussex to ask them to follow-on with time running out.

Gloucestershire are just about edging day three at Derbyshire. They're 192-5 in their first innings and trailing by 59. Ben Charlesworth has 57.

  17. WICKET

    Eskinazi c Foakes b Clark 17 (Surrey v Middlesex 108-3 trail by 63)

Surrey have found a third wicket and they're still well ahead.

It's a third catch behind, Stephen Eskinazi goes this time, extending his terrible season.

    11 overs left tonight.

  18. All gone Pete Tong for Durham

Durham 187-8 need 59 to beat Yorkshire

    Martin Emmerson

    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham were in a comfortable position at tea. At 109-2 they needed another 137 to win this one. But when Dom Bess left the field with a knee injury and Yorkshire were forced to change their bowling plans, Durham collapsed.

They have now lost 6-47 and we are not even sure if Brydon Carse will be able to bat. This is looking like Yorkshire's first win in 18 County Championship matches, unless Durham can pull it out of the fire.

The pitch has always had something in it for the bowlers and I have lost count of the number of players who have dragged the ball onto the stumps this week, on both teams.

  19. Need to get the openers

    Kent 95 & 40-0 v Hants 373

    Kevan James

    BBC Radio Solent commentator

The key for Hampshire gaining a win here is to get either Zak Crawley or Ben Compton reasonable early or ideally both.

Getting both out in the first innings in the first 20 minutes of the game was a real bonus and exposed the rest of the Kent batting.

But will it really happen for a second time?

Compton averages over 50 in his career, and basically wears bowlers down.Crawley If he bats for any length of time will take the game away from you. Two contrasting opening batters, but both hold the key for either a Kent draw or a Hampshire win.

  20. WICKET

    Abell b Hartley 48 (Lancashire 326 v Somerset 361 & 94-2)

That's such a shame for the Somerset skipper.

Within two run of his 33rd first-class fifty, Tom Abell tries to complete the job with a reverse sweep off Tom Hartley.

But he succeeds only in playing the ball on to his stumps.

An entertaining 63-ball innings, adding to the 151 and 40 he plundered off the Red Rose bowling at Taunton last month.
