  1. Signing off

We have new leaders of each T20 Blast group, with Birmingham Bears and Surrey displacing Notts Outlaws and Somerset.

Yorkshire Vikings remain the competition's form team as Adam Lyth's unbeaten 90 saw them to victory over Leicestershire Foxes.

The innings of the night, though, was played by Middlesex's Max Holden, who made 121 not out off 59 balls, but they now have a 0-9 record after losing to Kent, while Lancashire's Steven Croft hit his first century in his 235th T20 match.

More Blast action to come over the weekend - and don't forget to follow the BBC radio and text commentary tomorrow for day two of the opening Ashes Test.

    Sussex Sharks 183-6 v Hampshire Hawks 177-9

    Sussex win by six runs

  3. How things stand - South Group

Surrey are the new leaders of the South Group, leapfrogging Somerset after their 28-run win in Taunton. They both have 14 points, but Surrey have the superior run rate.

Essex move up to third, two points behind both of them on 12 points, after their four-wicket success over Glamorgan at Chelmsford.

Hampshire hold the fourth and final knockout spot despite their six-run loss to Sussex at Hove.

The defending champions have 10 points, two clear of Glamorgan.

Sussex and Kent each have six points after tonight's wins, as Kent inflicted a ninth straight loss on bottom side Middlesex with a 13-run triumph at Lord's.

Middlesex have now lost a miserable 13 successive matches in the T20 Blast. This campaign cannot end quickly enough for them!

  5. SUSSEX BEAT HANTS BY 6 RUNS

    Sussex 183-6, Hants 177-9 (20 overs)

Sussex hold on to beat reigning champions Hampshire at Hove in the T20 Blast for the first time this season.

After four wins in a row, that is Hampshire's second straight defeat going into Sunday's trip to The Oval to play Surrey.

Sussex's third win of the season lifts them to six points, and keeps alive their faint hopes of reaching the quarter-finals.

Their next game is at home to Kent on Tuesday night.

  6. WICKET - Ellis lbw b Karvelas 15

    Sussex 183-6, Hants 176-9 (19.5 overs)

    That's torn it!!!

    Nathan Ellis is out.

  7. Eight needed off two balls at Hove

    Sussex 183-6, Hants 176-8 (19.4 overs)

A huge six by Nathan Ellis puts Hants back in it.

Followed by a two which almost went for six but for an amazing piece of fielding by Harrison Ward.

The ball was over the rope by Ward grabbed it while in mid-air and threw it back into play before hitting the turf. Wow!

  8. WICKET - Howell c Currie b Mills 25

    Sussex 183-6, Hants 161-8 (18.2 overs)

    Game changer.

"The best catch you'll see this season", says BBC Radio Solent's Kevan James.

Benny Howell looked to have slapped a six but Brad Currie leaps in the air and pulls off a simply amazing one-handed catch.

"Catches win matches", agrees BBC colleague Adrian Harms. "It's one of the oldest cliches in cricket, but it's true."

What a night for Currie after his three wickets earlier.

  9. Post update

    Sussex 183-6, Hants 157-7 (18 overs)

    11 off the 18th over.

    27 still needed.

    It's been done.

  10. Post update

Yorkshire (197-2) beat Leicestershire (195-5) by eight wickets

    Jamie Raynor

    BBC Radio Leeds

Another dominant victory for Yorkshire, that's six on the spin in the T20 Blast.

An eight-wicket win against Leicestershire sees them climb up the Northern Group table.

Currently the form team in this year's Blast.

  11. Three overs left at Hove

    Sussex 183-6, Hants 146-7 (17 overs)

    38 needed off 18 balls

  12. How things stand - North Group

There is a three-way tie at the top with Birmingham Bears and Yorkshire Vikings moving above Notts Outlaws - who didn't play this evening - by virtue of a superior run rate.

All three have 12 points, two more than Lancashire Lightning, who climbed two places to fourth by beating Northamptonshire Steelbacks.

Durham are fifth following their thrilling tie with Derbyshire, with Worcestershire Rapids - who have a game in hand on all the other teams in the group - in sixth place, on eight points.

  13. Post update

Durham 178 all out tie with Derbyshire Falcons 178-5

    Martin Emmerson

    BBC Radio Newcastle

Match tied. Ali hits a 4 from the final ball to tie the game with both sides on 178. They needed 10 ten win from the final over. For both sides it's only the third time a game has ended in a tie.

  14. BreakingESSEX BEAT GLAMORGAN BY FOUR WICKETS

    Essex 177-6 v Glamorgan 175-6

William Buttleman needs just one ball to win the match for Essex as he sends one through the covers for four.

They win by four wickets with four overs to spare for a fourth win on the spin in the T20 Blast. All the fours!

Essex now have a four-point cushion over Glamorgan after this result and are starting to look strong candidates to qualify from the South Group again.

After being 1-2, Feroze Khushi's 61 set them up for this chase against a total that always looked below par.

  15. WICKET Sams b McIlroy 41

    Essex 173-6 (16 overs) v Glamorgan

    Fetch!

Daniel Sams picks one up off Jamie McIlroy and sends it out of the ground at midwicket. That was huuuuge!

He is providing some quality Friday night Essex entertainment!

But he can't finish the job as McIlroy crashes one into the stumps. Sams goes for 41 off just 16 balls.

  16. WICKET - Dawson b Garton 59

    Sussex 183-6, Hampshire 112-6 (15 overs)

    Liam Dawson goes.

And bangs the ground with his bat in frustration!

11 had come from the first five deliveries of the over but, from the final ball, Dawson tries to guide down to third man for a single to keep the strike, and misses it. Ouch!

New man in to join Benny Howell is Chris Wood.

He hit his career-best score of 31 against Middlesex at Radlett last week. A repeat of that would be handy.

  17. Essex need 14 off five overs

    Essex 162-5 (15 overs) v Glamorgan 175-6

Daniel Sams puts his fellow Aussie Peter Hatzoglou to the sword as he smashes three fours in four balls.

Another 15 off this over. Glamorgan's total feels at least 30 runs short on this flat Chelmsford track.

Sams has 33 off only 13 balls.

  18. Essex need 29 off six overs

    Essex 148-5 (14 overs) v Glamorgan 175-6

Daniel Sams is a man in a hurry as he goes six, four off the last two balls of Zain-ul-Hassan's over.

15 runs off it and Essex now need less than a run-a-ball.

  19. BreakingSURREY BEAT SOMERSET BY 28 RUNS

    Somerset 167-9 v Surrey 195-9

A low-key finish to the match-up between South Group's top two as Surrey draw level with Somerset's seven wins in the competition.

Just a leg bye and two singles from the final over, bowled by Tom Lawes, as Somerset come up short at Taunton.

After opener Will Jacks made 60, Chris Jordan hit 36 off 12 balls to give Surrey's attack something to defend and despite a stand of 69 between the Toms - Banton (53) and Abell (39) - the Somerset lower order fell away.

Sam Curran took 5-26 but Somerset may want to look again at Sean Dickson's run out dismissal? Was the ball in Curran's hand when he broke the stumps?

  20. WICKET - Fuller c Mills b Shadab 8

    Sussex 183-6, Hampshire 112-6 (13.5 overs)

Key wicket for Sussex as Shadab Khan gets rid of James Fuller.

Liam Dawsoln is still there and Benny Howell can hit it too, but the run rate is more than 10 an over now and the visitors are up against it.
