Match ends, Blackpool 0(3), Barrow 0(4).
League Two Barrow made it to the second round of the Carabao Cup after a dramatic 4-3 penalty shootout win over Championship side Blackpool.
The Cumbrian side thought they had won it when goalkeeper Paul Farman saved Shayne Lavery's spot-kick.
However a retake was ordered, which Lavery converted, before Harrison Neal then missed a chance to win for Barrow.
But on-loan Manchester City midfielder Lewis Fiorini shot over as the visitors claimed a notable scalp.
It continues the excellent start they have made to the season under new manager Pete Wild, with this coming on the back of wins over two of the League Two promotion favourites, Stockport County and Bradford City.
However, they owed a lot to goalkeeper Farman, who made a host of saves.
The Seasiders had made seven changes to their line-up and handed a first start to exciting teenager Charlie Patino, the 18-year-old on loan from Arsenal.
They dominated possession and had far more shots on goal, but could not find a breakthrough.
And as Barrow hung on, Farman saved late on from Fiorini and CJ Hamilton to take it to penalties.
The goalkeeper saved the Seasiders' first spot-kick from Callum Connolly, and then from Lavery, before the drama that followed.
But when Fiorini shot into the 700 fans who had travelled down from Cumbria, the League Two outfit could celebrate properly.
Blackpool manager Michael Appleton told BBC Radio Lancashire:
"I'm disappointed to go out but I'm not disappointed with how the players applied themselves.
"Some of the play in the second half was good but we lacked a bit of confidence in front of goal."
Barrow manager Pete Wild told BBC Radio Cumbria:
"Paul Farman is a top fella. He's in our senior leadership team and I really respect him as a goalkeeper.
"He makes saves. He kept 14 clean sheets last season for a team third bottom of the league. The bloke keeps us in games and we've seen that in abundance tonight."

I felt before pre season this manager may be the one to get things going after 2 nailbite seasons, defence always OK just scoring, 6 goals in 2 games!
I’m our faces, hassled and got just rewards. We have had some EMBARRASSING defeats and early cup exits, this tops the lot. Lacklustre performances SHOCKING activity in the transfer market.Yes we had an awful start to last season but there was optimism and signs to encourage.
Not so much right now. Agent Appleton time is ticking how long for your second stint in charge ?
With penalties taken that were worthy of any championship side.
