A Bristol restaurant is set to close this summer amid regeneration plans. Flow Bristol has revealed it has been given notice to move out of its location at the Bearpit, much of which will be revamped into a mix of student accommodation, co-living spaces and housing.

The vegan restaurant's last day of service will be Saturday, June 1. Posting on Instagram, bosses said there were currently no plans to move locations and they "might have a lovely, little rest," rather that reopen elsewhere.

Flow, which has been open for eight years in the Bearpit, made it onto BristolLive's list of best vegan restaurants this Veganuary and fans have been left hoping for seconds from the establishment in the future. Commenting on the post, one said it was their "favourite restaurant in Bristol", while another added: "An incredible 8 years. Your food is amazing and you will be sorely missed!"

The full statement from the restaurant's owners said: "The time has come, the developers are upon us and alas, our last service will be on Saturday June 1st. Some of you may have seen that the Bearpit area is being regenerated and unfortunately that means our little hideaway will be meeting with a wrecking ball at some point in 2024. Thus, we have been given notice to pack up our napsacks and mosey on out.

"It’s been a wild, old ride; 8 years in the Flow Kitchen. So for now, no plans to relocate. Think I might have a lovely, little rest. Pop ups in the future? New venture? Who knows! But if you’ve been to us before and had a fabulous time or never had a chance to try us out, you’ve got until June 1st to come and join before we say buh bye to the Bearpit."

Three major regeneration and building projects are in the works at the Bearpit to create new student and co-living acomodation. Venture capital firm Melburg announced last year it was planning to turn the 360 Bristol office into residential living spaces. The new scheme would deliver 370 beds. The plan also includes a -state-of-the-art gym, a cafe and leisure facilities, a screening room, golf simulator ad 370 bike storage spaces.

The Premier Inn, located near Flow as well as a number of other establishments, will be demolished and replaced with two tower blocks - an 18 storey building and a towering 28 floor building, which will become one of the tallest in the city. The larger block is expected to become student accommodation, with the 18 storey building set to be filled with co-living arrangements.

The former Debenhams store will also be demolished, as well as surrounding buildings, ready for two new blocks for 520 new homes to be built. One of the blocks will be 28 storeys, similar to the Premier Inn replacement.
