I thank Catherine Russell, Executive Director of UNICEF, for this opportunity to meet during the High-level Political Forum. We have only a few years left to intensify UN system efforts to support the implementation of #SDGs. Together, UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme) and UNICEF have the potential to effectively address many of the challenges faced by children and youth living in urban settings. #UNHABITATHLPF2023 #SDG11

Children live in a world that's increasingly hostile to their rights, especially children caught in war & conflict. On #WorldChildrensDay – a global day dedicated to children 💙 – and every day, we must do better by children and ensure the rights #ForEveryChild. If recent progress continues, only 60 countries, home to just 25 percent of the child population, will meet their targets by 2030. This would leave approximately 1.9 billion children in 140 countries behind. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dZ6nNNGB

🤝 On the 1st United Nations - International Day of Care and Support, we joined 16 other NGOs for seizing the moment to transform care system into person-centred, adequately funded, sustainable services. Rather than being treated as a burden, care must empower us throughout our lives. Helping a loved one and moving from the role of parent, spouse, brother, sister or child to that of informal carer must be a choice, but this choice is often not possible because of the failure of the care systems. 📖Read the joint statement➡️ bit.ly/DayofCareUN2023 The signatories: - AGE Platform Europe - Autism-Europe aisbl - Caritas Europa - COFACE Families Europe - EAPN - European Anti Poverty Network - EASPD B. - EFFE - EU Federation for Family Employment - EFSI - European Federation for Services to Individuals - European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU) - Eurocarers - Eurodiaconia - EuroHealthNet - European Women's Lobby - Make Mothers Matter - MMM - Platform for Undocumented Migrants (PICUM) - UNI Europa #InternationalDayofCareandSupport #AWorldforAllAges #DayofCare
