WHO doesn't love a total bargain? Well one shopper cleared the shelves when she discovered a household cleaning staple was on offer.

It's no secret that the price of cleaning products has soared recently, so when Diane Palmer realised that the large bottles of Lenor Gold Orchid fabric softer had been slashed in price she grabbed four of them.

Taking to the popular Facebook group B&M Bargains, Extreme Money Saving Deals and More she shared a snap of her haul and wrote: "It's worth using the B&M app to scan your items, these were 50p each for 50 washes."

In most supermarkets the large bottles are usually priced around the £4 mark, so nabbing four of them for just 50p each was a deal too good to miss for Diane.

The barcode scanner in the app allows shoppers to discover discounted items before the staff have even reduced them.

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift, or they're labelled "big brands" and "big savings".

It's a terrific hack to use, especailly has the cost of basics, including cleaning products, have soared recently.

The scanner is completely free as well - you just need to download the B&M app.

After raving about her bargain find online, other keen money-savers commented on the post congratulating her on the find.

"Wow my favourite softener well done you," one wrote.

"I love this! Well done," a second said.

"The best scent too, great find," someone else wrote.

And another asked: "How do I use the app for this?"

How do I find bargains with the B&M scanner?

When you've found a product you want to scan, simply point your smartphone camera toward its barcode in store.

The app will then automatically bring up the item's price - this is when you'll know if it is reduced or not.

Bargain hunters have previously raved about some items come up as £1.50p or even 10p through the app - what's not to love?

One thing to note hover is that the reductions do sometimes vary between stores.

This means just because something is reduced in one B&M, it doesn't mean it'll cost the same price elsewhere.

But if you do get lucky and find a bargain, the product should scan at that price at the till.

The scanner also only works in stores, so you can't use it online.

How to find your nearest B&M

THERE are plenty of B&Ms around the UK - in fact, the retailer has around 600 stores.

To find your nearest, use the online store locator tool.

There are three different types of B&M shops: Bargains Stores, Home Stores and Home Stores with Garden Centre.

But what's the difference? Bargains Stores tend to be based on high streets and have a smaller range of goods.

Home Stores have larger furniture items, while Home Stores with Garden Centres have an outside space for garden products.
