A TRIPLE amputee war hero has blasted thieves who stole prosthetic legs from his car in a disabled parking space - saying "they don't care".

Afghanistan veteran Mark Ormrod was left fuming after the smash-and-grab theft in a Premier Inn car park in London.

Posting on Twitter, Mark said: "Not the best start to my day! Had my car broken into last night.

"They stole a bag full of sweaty gym cloths and another bag with my JiuJitsu Gi in.

"What’s really inconvenient is they took a set of my prosthetic legs!

"Despite having 3 cameras pointing at my car I was told by the staff at the hotel that they couldn’t see any activity.

"The view to my car was blocked by another car - might be time to reposition those cameras.

"The sad thing is to think that someone would break into a car parked in a disabled parking space and steal equipment someone needs to live independently - and not even care."

It's not yet know which London Premier Inn branch Mark had been staying at.

Premier Inn said it was looking into the alleged theft.

Last year was the worst on record for car thefts, according to insurance firm LV.

Thefts are thought to have risen by around 28% from 2022, which itself saw a 59% increase.

The Met Police has been contacted for comment.

Royal Marine Mark was dubbed Britain's Superman by Prince Harry after losing his right arm and both of his legs in Afghanistan.

The war hero cheated death after stepping on a Taliban landmine on Christmas Eve in 2007.

Ten years on from the blast he was one of the stars of Harry’s 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto, winning four medals for rowing and swimming.

At the time, Mark said: "It has been the most amazing journey.

"It has taken me from being blown up and wanting to end it all to the very best days of my life.

"I’d do it all again in a heartbeat."
