A PENSIONER has become a true egghead for Easter — having her hair dyed like a Cadbury Creme Egg.

Sylvia Homewood, 88, spent 90 minutes in the chair having specialist paint applied to turn her barnet into a replica of the oval choc and fondant treat.

Her copy of the Creme Egg’s famous wrapper is topped with a purple, yellow, red and pink mowhawk.

Sylvia, who has previously had Van Gogh’s Starry Night painting and Scottish-style tartan daubed on her bonce, said: “If you want to get a head, get a Cadbury’s egg.”

It was created by barber Colin Watkins at his Studio 2000 salon in Shepperton, Surrey — and he said it was one of the most difficult he has had to produce.

Colin, 64, added: “Sylvia wanted something special for Easter and I suggested a Cadbury’s Creme Egg.

“It was a great challenge for me and I thought I would go for it.

"We’re very happy with the results. They are lovely, bright colours. She’s been out with it and only got good feedback.”

The new do — one of more than 100 designs by Colin, who calls himself a “hair art pioneer” — will last for around six weeks.

He went on: “To get the detail perfect is so important.

“I’m going to keep pushing the boundaries in the hairdressing and colouring world as much as I can.”
