LUKE HUMPHRIES has announced that he is making a major change.

The 29-year-old, who beat Luke Littler to become PDC world champion in January, currently tops the Premier League Darts leaderboard.

He defeated teenage sensation Littler 6-5 on Saturday in Sindelfingen before recording the same scoreline to overcome Stephen Bunting on Sunday.

Humphries has approached the oche to the tune of DNCE’s Cake by the Ocean throughout the campaign.

That song has been heavily criticised by supporters, who love nothing more than to join in as the stars make their way on stage.

Humphries has now revealed that last weekend was the last time he would be using the American band’s song as he vowed to change his walk-in.

And ‘Cool Hand Luke’ said that he would be entering to new music at the Night 15 Premier League Darts event on May 9 in Leeds.

Humphries said: “This is going to be the last time that Cake by the Ocean is ever performed in European Tour history.

“It is going to be changed from Leeds Premier League so…. as much as it’s not the best song in the world I do enjoy it so hopefully I can give it the send off it deserves, hopefully over the next three games.”

Unfortunately he was unable to live up to that “deserved send-off” as he got thrashed 6-2 by Rob Cross in the quarters in Germany while Gary Anderson eventually won the tournament.

However, it was Humphries’ potential song choice that had fans talking on social media.

One post read: “He’s a Leeds fan. Changing it in Leeds. It’s got to be Kaiser Chiefs.”

“I hope it's a banger cos we're gonna have to listen to it a lot,” wrote another.

While a third speculated: “I predict a riot. He said it’ll be changed from Leeds Premier League, it’s a song closely linked to Leeds United.”

Before that, though, Humphries will have to focus on this weekend’s Premier League event in Liverpool.

He will face Nathan Aspinall first in the quarter-final as he looks to take another step towards securing the title.

Inside Littler's massive rise

LUKE LITTLER has taken the darts world by storm since exploding onto the scene at the PDC World Championship.

The Nuke reached the final on his Ally Pally debut at just 16 years of age - smashing records along the way.

He has since joined Jude Bellingham on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list.

And the teenage titan even had to snub an invite from the WWE.

The Sun exclusively revealed that Littler is plotting to create a fitness empire.

He is also cashing in away from the Oche thanks to an Instagram side hustle.

And he's even the face of a brand new cereal.
