DIVERSITY are set to perform on Britain’s Got Talent for the first time since their brave Black Lives Matter dance accrued almost 25,000 complaints.

The dance troupe’s four minute-long production, which was inspired by the protests that followed the death of George Floyd, angered some viewers of the 2020 final.

But the group intends to return to the BGT stage in June’s series finale.

Jordan Banjo, 29, said: “We certainly hope to be back performing on BGT this year.”

It would mark a return to the show that made Diversity famous when they beat Susan Boyle in the 2009 series’ final.

Since then the group, which is led by Jordan’s brother Ashley, 33, have starred on everything from Dancing on Ice to The Real Full Monty

Jordan went on: “I don’t know how we can top last time but Ash always has some crazy ideas, is always pushing us, and always comes up with something special, so watch this space.”

A BGT spokesman did not respond to request for comment.

Jordan was promoting his new BBC show Eat Well For Less, which begins tomorrow night, inspired by his own weight loss journey.

He has told how he put on three and half stone during the first coronavirus lockdown.

Jordan said: “I put on like a serious amount of weight. I wasn't dancing as much, I wasn’t anywhere near as active.

"I was like with the kids, 'Oh you're not eating that, I’ll finish that.'

"I’d be polishing off crisps here and there, just eating out of boredom."

Jordan is joining forces with Chris Bavin on the show - which aims to help families across the UK save money, sort food facts from food fiction, and eat well for less - after taking over from Gregg Wallace.
