‘I’m up for a challenge’ says Beyond Paradise star as competition to replace Ralf Little on Death in Paradise heats up

BEYOND Paradise star Peter Davison has addressed whether he would replace Ralf Little as the lead detective.
The 73-year-old actor, who has also appeared in Death in Paradise, has revealed whether he would return to the Caribbean - after viewers were left heartbroken over Ralf Little's exit.

Ralf - who played DI Neville Parker in the crime-drama for four years - left his role last month leaving fans devastated.
But now the race is on to find out who will replace him.
The BBC have not yet revealed his replacement, but names such as David Tennant and Martin Clunes' have been rumoured.
Meanwhile, Peter has told the press whether he is keen to takeover.

The actor said: "Yes, I don't know. I remember talking to Ben Miller, who found the schedule in Death in Paradise a bit relentless.
"I'm always up for a challenge. So I would not rule it out but I think the chances are they may go to someone a bit younger."
When quizzed if Ralf knew his replacement, Ralf said: "I have honestly no idea and they haven't told me, maybe they had no idea yet.
"But I like the rest of you are going to be just sitting and asking, 'Who's next?' Who knows? No idea. But we'll see what happens."

Peter starred in the Death in Paradise spin-off, Beyond Paradise, as Barbara's character Anne's love interest, reuniting with Kris Marshall and Barbara Flynn.
However, he made a swift exit on Friday after Anne found out he had a wife.

Will his character make a comeback?
Peter said: "That is not sadly up to me but Barbara and I were about ways in which we can get me back into the series. I think that one of the last things he says to her is, 'Let me explain'.
"I said, 'Yeah give me a chance to explain, come on, have me back so I can explain what was going on'. So you know on the face of it, he's just taking advantage or rather I don't know how much he's taking advantage.
"He's selling them this story so that he can you know, have lovely dinners and have these dates with Barbara or maybe there are other women as well.
"What his intentions are beyond that, it's certainly not clear. There's no way in which he seems to be trying to get money out of them or anything like that. So I think maybe he deserves a chance to explain what he meant."
