SHE was one of the ultimate original mean girls of teen movies - and 36 years later, Lisanne Falk is still enviable to many.

Lisanne, 59, has barely aged a day since she first shot to fame in a string of 80s classics - most notably cult movie, Heathers.

Joined by Shannen Doherty and Kim Walker, Lisanne was one of the titular Heathers - the popular girls at Westerberg High who wasted no time in bullying those ‘below them’ on the high school food chain.

In the movie, they had one stand out exception in their group, Veronica Sawyer, played by Winona Ryder, who didn’t want to blend in with the Heathers despite being their friend.

When Veronica meets and falls in love with bad boy JD (Christian Slater), she's coerced into a plan to rid the world of the Heathers altogether - with disastrous consequences for everyone.

When it was released in 1988, Heathers proved highly controversial - mainly due to its macabre dark humour that centered on murder, suicide, sex and how easily teens are swayed.

But it became a smash hit regardless, with Heathers turning Christian Slater into a heartthrob, Winona Ryder into a household name, and steered the course for Lisanne - aka Heather McNamara - to also shoot for stardom.

She later appeared alongside John Cusack in lovesick drama Say Anything… , and a year before Heathers’ release starred alongside Robert Downey Jr in drama, Less Than Zero.

However, she opted to move away from the big screen and focused on TV movies, and smaller roles. Her last notable credit was in 2002 short, Casablanca.

Lisanne may have now moved away from the heavily hairsprayed and backcombed look of the 80s, but she has barely aged a day and continues to speak to fans online, posting updates on Instagram.

She now lives in the UK with her husband, video game producer Mark Morris, and has dual citizenship with the United States.

While Lisanne may have left the acting world behind her, she continues to support the success of Heathers.

Heathers has since been turned into a musical based on the film, with Lisanne making frequent appearances to cheer on the cast during its Broadway and West End runs.

After seeing the West End show in 2021, she wrote: “Dear Diary: Monday night was the 6th time I’ve seen @heathersmusical performed in venues spanning the globe and it never gets old. This new cast totally smashed it once again!

"I love the way each iteration brings to life the relevant themes of the movie as well as shining a whole new light on the topical concerns of teens today #metoo #consent #blacklivesmatter #pride.

“The latest Westerberg recruits have made Mama Mac very proud.”
