The integration of AI assistants into business software is as significant a step forward for companies as the arrival of the internet, the founder of the US giant NetSuite has said.

Evan Goldberg said while current services made use of large language models to help employees with day-to-day tasks, he envisaged AI services quickly becoming tailored to individual businesses, with AI tools taking on “chief of staff” roles for business leaders to highlight important operational changes, benchmark performance against peers and suggest improvements.

“I think it is as momentous a change as the internet,” Goldberg said. “This leap in capabilities that comes from access to such powerful computing is going to change every type of software out there.”
