The Cambridge Fifteen, who have just returned from France, played matches against Biarritz Olympique, the Selection Paloise, at Pau, and against Carcassonne. The first two matches were lost, but the third was won with comparative ease.

In the match at Biarritz, which was watched by the Prince of Wales, Cambridge had extremely bad luck when, after taking the lead 13-12, they were beaten 17-13 in the last minute of the game. From a scrummage in their own “25” the ball was passed out to Francis, who made a good run, but was tackled on the half-way line.
