The Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson could make a surprise comeback from injury in the Premier League top-of-the-table clash against Arsenal on Sunday, but Kyle Walker and John Stones are serious doubts after they missed training on Thursday.

City ruled out Ederson for three to four weeks after he suffered a thigh injury in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool on March 10 but their first-choice goalkeeper was back in training with his team-mates at the City Football Academy on Thursday afternoon.

Xabi Mancisidor, the goalkeeper coach, will assess the 30-year-old Brazilian over the next couple of days before deciding whether he is ready to start.
